Step 1: Check if the camera switch is turned on?
On different laptops, turning on / off the camera is also different. Please check if the camera on your computer is turned on.
For some new HP, Lenovo or Dell laptops, there is a separate switch to turn the camera on / off. Or there are keyboard shortcuts to activate using the camera or not. Please double-check.

Step 2: Check if the Lens Cover (camera lens) is opened?
Some new types of laptops like Lenovo, Dell have added Lens cover for camera eyes. The purpose is to protect the camera eye or security when not using the camera on the laptop. If you forgot to open the Lens cover, the computer will report the same error as above.

Step 3: Update the camera driver to the highest version.

After carefully checking steps 1 and 2. If the camera still shows an error. Please update the driver for the camera as below:
Right-click This PC> Manager> Device Manager> Camera> Update Driver> Search automatically for updated driver software

 

 

 

 


 Wait 1-2 minutes for the update to complete. Restart your computer or laptop and check if the camera is ok.
