Microsoft Unveils Windows 11 LTSC 2024 Minimum System Requirements and Supported CPU List

Microsoft recently announced the start of WHCP hardware certification for the upcoming Windows feature update version 24H2. This process ensures that Windows 11 24H2 properly validates CPU compatibility and receives appropriate support from hardware partners like AMD and Intel. While the overall system requirements are expected to remain unchanged, older processors lacking PopCnt and SSE4.2 instruction set support will fail Windows 11 24H2's qualification checks.
Notably, the same certification approach applies to Windows Server 2025, which has just received its official Evaluation ISO.
Additionally, Microsoft launched Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 earlier this week, along with its minimum system requirements and specific processor support lists. The specifications are divided into two categories: Preferred and Optional. Here are the minimum system requirements for Windows 11 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2024:
| Component | PREFERRED (Minimum Requirement) | OPTIONAL (Minimum Requirement) |
| Processor | 1 GHz, 2 cores | 1 GHz, 2 cores |
